New Book Covers

My debut novel Catching the Eagle and it's prequel, February 1809, have both had a makeover.
Two hundred years after his death, our family rogue, Jamie Charlton, has never looked so good.
Many thanks to my talented cover designer, Lisa Horton for these brilliant image. Lisa designs the book covers for the Detective Lavender Mystery Series (published by Thomas & Mercer) and I have asked her to upgrade the covers of all my self-published novels.

'February 1809', my latest short story, is now published on Amazon as an eBook. A prequel to 'Catching the Eagle', this stand-alone short story is is a day-in-the-life of the main characters of that novel. As the rural community in Ponteland, Northumberland begins to stir after one of the harshest winters on record, impoverished farm labourer, Jamie Charlton, desperately seeks work. With a wife and four hungry children to feed, a mountain of debt and creditors baying for payment, Jamie has more problems than most. He lurches from one crisis to another, stubbornly refusing help from his anxious brother, William. When his creditors become increasingly violent, Jamie's desperation reaches breaking point. How will he, and his family, survive?

February 1809 is both a prequel to Catching the Eagle - and a stand alone short story.  It introduces the characters and provides more background information about the real events which preceeded the robbery at Kirkley Hall.

Set in Northumberland, February 1809 by Karen Charlton, it is a prequel to my main novel Catching the Eagle.  It introduces the main characters and is based on some real events in the lives of Jamie and William Charlton.

Synopsis
